Usui Reiki is a Japanese energy healing method founded by Mikao Usui in the early 20th century.
It is based on the understanding that life energy flows through all of us, and when this energy becomes blocked or imbalanced — often through stress, emotional overload, or prolonged tension — we may experience discomfort on physical, emotional, or mental levels.
What to expect?
A Reiki session is a space to slow down, rest, and allow your system to settle.
You will remain fully clothed and lie down comfortably (or sit, if that feels better for you). The session takes place in a calm, quiet environment where nothing is required from you — no talking, no effort, no “doing it right”.
During the session, gentle hand placements are used either on or slightly above the body, allowing energy to flow where it is needed most.
Each experience is unique. You may feel:
-
deep relaxation or a meditative state
-
warmth, tingling, or gentle sensations in the body
-
emotional release or a sense of lightness
-
grounding, clarity, or inner calm
-
or simply rest — which is already deeply healing
Sometimes the effects are felt immediately, and sometimes they unfold gradually in the days following the session.
There is no right or wrong way to experience Reiki.
Your body takes only what it is ready for.
After the session, many people describe feeling more present, lighter, calmer, and more connected to themselves.
You are always in control, and the session is adapted to your comfort and boundaries.
